Brussels, May 10, 2017.- The European Union Military Committee will meet at the level of EU Chiefs of Defence (CHODs). The meeting will be chaired by General Mikhail Kostarakos, the permanent chairman of the committee.
The meeting will start with an update on the implementation of the EU Global strategy in the area of security and defence.
EU Chiefs of Defence will then examine the EU-NATO cooperation with General Curtis M. Scaparrotti, NATO’s Supreme Allied Commander Europe.
In addition, CHODS will discuss the European Defence Agency with its Chief Executive, Jorge Domecq. They will also review the current situation in Ukraine with the Ukrainian Chief of Defence.
Finally, EU Chiefs of Defence will have discussion on CSDP military missions and operations, including EU training and advisory missions and EU ongoing operations (EUNAVFOR Somalia Operation Atalanta, EUNAVFOR MED Operation Sophia, and EUFOR Althea).
